The Proud and Profane [1956] [DVD]William Holden (actor) Deborah Kerr (actor) Format: all-region dvd (worldwide) Runtime: 111 min Quality: Digital
You have to hand it to William Holden, a great actor who made a lot of bad films, because he liked travelling the world, he liked drinking all over the world, and he liked women to share it all with him.
So this movie finds him in New Caledonia in the south Pacific - well, they didn't actually go there, they went to the Virgin Islands which is almost as good. It's a war melodrama, with Holden as an officer who romances widow Deborah Kerr, who becomes pregnant and then finds out Holden's married - a sort of "From Here to Maternity". |
