Ride A Wild Pony [1975] [DVD]

A young poor farm boy is given a wild pony to travel to school. He trains it but one day it ends up in the hands of a young handicapped girl, the daughter of a wealthy farm owner, who has everything except this pony. This is a great story and has you feeling for both children.

A highly moralistic and sentimental tale of love and jealousy adapted from the James Aldridge novel A Sporting Proposition by Rosemary Anne Sisson. Set in 18th-century Australia, Robert Bettles plays a poor, farm schoolboy battling over the ownership of a prize horse with the rich, but polio-stricken, Eva Griffith. Typical Disney fare directed with compassion by Don Chaffey.
