Assault on a Queen [1966] [DVD]

In Ocean's Eleven, Frank Sinatra and his cronies held up five casinos in Las Vegas. In this follow-up, Ol' Blue Eyes and even more cronies raise a U-boat from the ocean shallows to plunder the Queen Mary and its well-heeled passengers. While Sinatra and co make with the action-man stuff, European sex symbol Virna Lisi has little to do except pose in a bikini.

It's heavy-handed in all departments except special effects where everything looks shaky with leaden direction by Jack Donohue, a former choreographer to Shirley Temple and Esther Williams. Come to think of it, an aquatic display by Williams is just what this story requires.
