Ex-convict John Carroll heads for Mexico to recover a cache of stolen gold hidden in a disused mine. Plans to work a scam go awry when his "discovery" convinces the local peasantry that God has worked a miracle for their prosperity.
Co-directed by veteran Allan Dwan and Philip Ford, with a cast that includes Thomas Gomez as the village doctor and Adele Mara as his daughter, this modest western has an unusual, ironic and appealing message to accompany its otherwise stock ingredients. |
